A chosen piece of music informs the design and layout of my music paintings. I decide upon the colours by the mood of the music. No preparatory sketches are required because I paint directly onto the canvas. I am transported on an emotional journey of gestural marks, animating the canvas often with my hands, brush and palette knife.
