A deep connectedness with nature in all its colours and rhythms.

I am a creative person and have always loved to draw and paint. When I left school, I started my nurse training and worked within the NHS for thirteen years. It was a wilderness that left no time or space for creativity. Eventually I left nursing to focus on my family.

As the children grew older, I was able to attend various art courses. I wanted to study art in a more formal way, so I started a five-year, part time art degree at Farnham university. I qualified in 2015 age 50.

My practice has evolved over the years encompassing print making, figurative collage, landscape painting and now abstract painting. I paint in oils and often use my hands to move paint around the canvas connecting me emotionally. I use collage elements and machine and hand stitching to add to the narrative.

I was born in Cornwall and grew up in Devon. I enjoyed a childhood of wide-open spaces of coastline and moorland, resulting in a deep connectedness with nature in all its colours and rhythms.

I moved to Surrey when I met my husband and we live here with our two dogs. I am a keen gardener and I walk every day. I find outdoor spaces a constant source of wonder and inspiration.
